Hale Kamaole # 137 Remodel

The goal of this website is to provide as much information as possible about this remodel for the Bechelli Brothers (owners) and Scott Hoepfl (contractor).

I’ve done extensive research over the past 3 months, identifying many of the component options for this remodel, including, but not limited to, flooring, cabinets, quartz countertops, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, doors, and more.

In many instances, I’ve sourced materials available in Maui and seen them on the mainland. For example, Home Depot on Maui offers Cambria (top-quality) quartz countertops. I visited the Cambria showroom in Union City, CA, to see the full slab rather than a 2 x 2 swatch. Another example: Ceramic Tile Plus in Maui offers an in-stock program of 12 x 24 tiles and prefab quartz countertops. The brand is MSI Surfaces, with a showroom in Hayward where actual products can be seen, so as to match other components used in the remodel.

In each section, I’ve tried to create options – some for cost comparisons and others for design.

The design concept is to bring the beach inside. White shaker cabinets, white-ish quartz countertops with some light grey/tan veining, Brushed nickel fixtures and accessories, sand/taupe porcelain luxury vinyl planks, bathroom light white/grey 12 x 24 matte porcelain tile shower walls, and bathroom floor & grey/white/charcoal pebble shower floor and stainless steel appliances.
